亚历克西斯·阿奎特的哥哥里奇蒙德·阿奎特(Richmond Arquette)通过Facebook宣布了这一消息:"我们的弟弟罗伯特·阿奎特，后来改名为亚历克西斯，后来又变成我们妹妹的亚历克西斯，已经在9月11日凌晨零点32分去世了。她去世时，所有的兄弟姐妹都陪在她身边，另外还有她的一位侄女和其它几位亲人。"
里奇蒙德·阿奎特接着写道:"我们一直为她播放音乐，她是在大卫·鲍威(David Bowie)的'Starman'中去世的。遵照她的遗嘱，我们祝贺她去了另外一个世界。"
《好莱坞报道》称，亚历克斯西·阿奎特曾常年遭受严重的伤病，不过她去世的原因并不明确。
亚历克斯西·阿奎特生前曾参演过《老友记》(Friends)、《加州靡情》(Californication)、《战士公主西娜》(Xena: Warrior Princess)、《低俗小说》(Pulp Fiction)和《婚礼歌手》(The Wedding Singer)等影视剧，她是曾凭借《少年时代》(Boyhood)获得奥斯卡的帕特丽夏·阿奎特(Patricia Arquette)的妹妹，也是美国影视男星大卫·阿奎特(David Arquette)的姐姐。
